In an exciting and ever changing field like hernia surgery, there is a tremendous demand on a surgeon's cognitive and psychomotor skills and execution. One of the key objectives of modern day technology like robotics and AI is to reduce the steepness of the learning and performance incline.

Many of us have been witness to how electrifying the changes in surgical practice and language can be. I believe that this is the time for the young surgeons to take over the mantle of change and progress.

Looking at my own self, I have no doubt that they will be better replacements and role models than my ilk (and certainly, self).

The YT Surgeons are a band of hernia warriors where the language is of change, the goal is next level, and the secret is energy and enterprise.

Let us watch them explore and explode in their chosen field. Let us enjoy this summit of the YT braintrust, and wonder at what we might have been like once, and what could inspire us to improve even at this stage in life.

I have no doubt that they will excel and even stun us.
